Mozart Quintet for Horn, Violin, Two Violas and Cello in E-flat major, K. 407

Beethoven Violin Sonata in A major, Op. 47, Kreutzer

Arensky Piano Quintet in D major, Op. 51

Things take a fiercely dramatic turn from Mozart’s opening Quintet with Beethoven’s Kreutzer Sonata, the high point of the violin repertoire, before closing with Arensky’s Piano Quintet, a work that moves from stormy drama through a folk-song movement to a triumphant final flourish.
